Team leader role in the New Media, Arts and Business Faculty at the Southern Institute of Technology in Invercargill.

The program manager’s responsibilities include: staff and student management, service delivery operation and processes, budgeting, internal and external QA and evaluation reporting, course development and alignment with stakeholders satisfaction needs and requirements. In all of these tasks it is my personal goal to deliver the best education possible to the students and stakeholders whilst continuing to grow and enhance the program.

This is my core teaching role with responsibilities including: the development and delivery of a diverse range of coursework (online and in-class) spanning several departments. The main specialty areas are the School of Audio Production, School of Music, SIT2LRN Distance Learning, and Environmental Management.

I have supervised major undergraduate student projects and delivered software and technical certification classes. I have facilitated core courses on annual basis for the Bachelor of Audio Production, Bachelor of Contemporary Music, and Bachelor of Environmental Management programs. The main subject areas include Applied Acoustics, Industry Applications, Specialist Audio, Audio Equipment, Industry Studies, Information Technology, Software and Internet marketing, Audio Electronics, Introduction to Music Technology, History of Heavy Music, and Renewable Energy Technologies.

Murihiku metal and dub; Culture, artistic practice and music in the making from Southland, New Zealand

 

I am mid way through a PhD to develop an intrinsic understanding of the development of musical scenes and how socio-cultural factors influences participation, production and performance in local music scenes

 

This study is informed by artistic practice-based musical performance and the creative works of modern audio recordings.
